The Southeastern Firefighters' Burn Foundation, Inc. was founded by Dr. Joseph M. Still, Jr. in 1988 as a nonprofit organization exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for the purpose of supporting burn patients and their families both during and after treatment of the trauma of a burn at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The Foundation is an independent legal entity.

The Foundation is a member of the Federation of Burn Foundations, Georgia Firefighters' Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the South Carolina Firefighters' Association, and the South Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs.

DID YOU KNOW THAT IN 2006…

• We spent over $16,700 on prescriptions for patients.
• We spent over $41,500 on anti-scarring garments for patients.
• We spent over $7,000 in transportation costs for follow-up medical visits.
• We housed over 1,200 family members at the Jeffrey Vaden Chavis House.
• We served over 16,000 meals in the waiting room of the Burn Unit, coordinated through volunteers of the Foundation and supported by 68 churches and civic organizations.
• With our patient and family services and our volunteer programs, we gave over $250,000 back to burn patients and families in 2006.

• We spent nearly $15,000 on prescriptions for patients.
• We spent over $33,000 on anti-scarring garments for patients.
• We spent over $11,000 in transportation costs for follow-up medical visits.
• We housed over 1,200 family members at the Jeffrey Vaden Chavis House
• We served over 17,000 meals in the waiting room of the Burn Unit, coordinated through volunteers of the Foundation and supported by over 60 churches and civic organizations.
